What is Bookstagram?

If you stumbled on this page and are wondering “what the heck is Bookstagram?”, don’t worry! I once had no idea that this community existed and it is now my favorite corner of the internet! Bookstagram is a community on Instagram where people create accounts to share their current reads, pictures of books, book recommendations, and other bookish content!

Bookstagram is such a supportive and welcoming community and is a great way to connect with other readers worldwide. I personally have made some amazing internet friends on Bookstagram and have found so much joy and inspiration creating content! If you are going back and forth on deciding whether to make a Bookstagram account, take the leap! It’s honestly the highlight of my day scrolling through my feed and connecting with other likeminded people.

Now, let’s dive into the 10 post ideas for your Bookstagram account!

1. Book “Shelfie”

Show off your bookshelf! These are some of my favorite types of posts. I love to see how others set up their bookshelves and I love to get ideas on how to reorganize or decorate my shelves. It’s also a common trend on Bookstagram to do a #ShelfieSunday!

2. Current Read

This one is easy! Share an aesthetic picture of the book you are currently reading. You can even create a carousel of various photos of your current read. Images in your carousel can include: a photo of your favorite quote, the book placed on your reading chair, the book open with a cup of coffee, and a selfie of you holding up the book.

3. Book Haul

Show off the books you just bought from your local bookstore! I love seeing these types of posts on my feed because I can get a general idea of what books are trending and what books I should add to my TBR (to be read) list.

4. Reading Chair

Show off your space with a photo of your cozy reading chair! You can spice up the photo by adding your current read sitting on the chair, or a stack of your favorite books. If you are wanting to dabble in affiliate marketing, you can also add a link to your chair or couch in your Instagram stories!

5. Coffee Shop
